Top 10 Conspiracies

1. Dumbledore is Death:

How can Dumbledore be ” Death”? This question can arise in your head; let me explain it in detail, and be patient and be with me. Trust me it will change your thinking after you learn about it. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, we find a story of three brothers who were faced with the personification of death while crossing a river. Death felt cheated because whoever would try to cross the river would ultimately get drowned in the water but the three brothers have created a bridge to cross it. When they ran into death their actual intentions were revealed to death. However, death was cunning and decided to toy with them for some time before killing them. Death offered the three brothers a prize for being clever enough to evade him. He pretended to congratulate them. It turned out the first brother lusts for power, so death gave him a very powerful wand that was built from an old tree that stood nearby. The second brother wanted to bring back death and the third brother turned out to be intelligent along with bravery. He accepted death as an old friend. This is a tale in the wizarding world that is very much popular among the children. If we look closely, we can find that Voldemort, Snape, and Harry fulfill the characteristics of the three brothers of the tale. Voldemort represents the elder brother, one who is driven and drunk by powers. Severus Snape represents the second brother who is driven by desire and emotion to capture the lost love. Lastly, Harry represents the third brother, who is brave and truly intellectual and accepts his fate and fulfills destiny. Now, who is dead? Here we find  Dumbledore’s role as death. Dumbledore is the only one who prioritizes Harry from the beginning as if he knows what is going to happen in the future. He gives Harry the Invisibility cloak as a gift on Christmas. He was the reason why Harry Potter had his hands on the resurrection stone. He went to the limit where he sacrificed himself to help Harry own the elder wand. This shows Dumbledore knew from the beginning about the circumstances, and that’s why he from the beginning helped Harry. Dumbledore possessed every prize given by death in the tale, which makes him represent death. This connection between a myth and the wizarding world is incredible.

2. Crookshanks Belonged to the Potter Family:

Hermione’s pet cat Crookshanks’ past story was never given in detail in the series. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, a letter was discovered by Harry and it was from his mother. She wrote the note to Sirius after Harry’s first birthday. In that letter, she mentions that Harry almost killed a cat while he was trying to fly on the toy broomstick, a gift given by Sirius. In the let.r she did not mention what happened to the cat. Voldemort killed his parents, and Peter Pettigrew is one of the betrayers. Later, when Peter Pettigrew was in his Animagus form as Ron’s rat Scabbers, the cat would always attack it. The fan prediction is that the cat attacked Scabbers not just because it was a rat, but because the cat recognized the betrayer of its previous master and wanted to take revenge. However, there is some confusion in it because if the cat really was the cat from the Potter’s household, then how come Sirius couldn’t recognize it? But as a fan, I would be delighted to think Harry had a part of his childhood watching over him.

3. The Time-Turner paradox:

In The Prisoner of Azkaban, we noticed how frequently Hermione was using the Time-Turner. Both Hermione and Dumbledore have mentioned how dangerous it can be to go back in time and be seen in the past. It has many dangerous consequences that can even destroy one’s future. Also, the Ministry of Magic has banned using the Time-Turner as it can change the future drastically, and interfering with the past might bring a huge calamity to the future. Whoever tries to meddle with the past is caught, and punishment is by the Ministry of Magic. The Ministry of Magic has also put in place the most stringent laws and penalties. They made sure that everyone knows about the consequences of meddling with time travel also who are studying about the topic. Hermione using a Time-Turner can cause her great loss if she does not return to the place from where she started to turn her time back. She could have vanished forever from the world. JK. Rowling, in the book The Prisoner of Azkaban, didn’t think much about the consequences that might occur for meddling with time. But when she realized she made a mistake she tried to correct herself by destroying all the Time-Turner of the wizarding world in later additions.

4.  The Veil in the Ministry:

The Veil in the Ministry of Magic, found in the Death Chamber, has long been a source of mystery and speculation. It is sometimes seen as a threshold between life and death, and its role in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix raises intriguing questions. There is a chance that the Vail was created when the third brother of  The Tale of the Three Brothers uses the resurrection stone to bring back his lover. It was said that the woman came back as just a mere shadow of her past self. In The Talisof Beedle the Bard, the description of her was given like this, “silent and cold, separated from him as though by a veil.”

When Harry and his friends stumble across the Veil in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix “faint whispering and murmuring noises” can be heard from it. Some predict that these are the noises created by the ones who have passed on from the living realm. The noises seemed to increase when Harry Asked them who they were. However, not everyone could hear the noises; only Harry and Luna could hear them, and they both were attracted to the Veil. It is possible for them to only hear the noises because they are the only ones who witnessed death just as the reason why they can see the creature called Thestrals

5. Hagrid’s Mysterious Background:

Rubeus Hagrid is an enigmatic character, and his mixed heritage half-giant has always sparked curiosity. Though it’s revealed that Hagrid’s mother was a giantess, little is known about his relationship with the giant community. Could there be deeper connections to giants that Hagrid has kept hidden, perhaps even ties to the conflicts among giants during the rise of Voldemort? The truth about his involvement with giants, their political struggles, and how it may have shaped his character is one of many untold stories that could offer a richer understanding of Hagrid’s background and motivations.

6. Did Voldemort Implant False Memories in Key Characters?:

Voldemort is known for his manipulation and cruelty that has no boundaries. The fact that he can implant false memories in others adds more terror and also a layer of psychological horror to his reign as his antagonist character.  He could have used Legilimency to manipulate characters like Harry, Severus Snape, or even Bellatrix Lestrange into believing things that weren’t true. The possibility that Voldemort would control the mind and memories to control the behavior of the characters adds more complexity to the story. Also, there might be some completely different story that might have happened, and what we know about is all the manipulative memories of Harry Potter done by Voldemort. This fact opens up many new intriguing avenues for exploration in terms of manipulation, trust, and the subjective nature of memory.

7. Harry And Sirius Are Related:

From the moment Harry knew about his godfather, Sirius Black, he was very close to him. However, when Harry finds a family tree in the house of Sirius Black in The Order of Phoenix, we can spot two family members on it who can be related to Harry Potter. This also raises the doubt that Harry and Sirius might be blood-related.

From the Black family tree we can learn that Dorea Black married Charlus Potter, and they had an unnamed son. Many fans have predicted that Dorea and Charlus are James Potter’s grandparents. This theory of the fans makes Potter and Sirius blood relatives. All pureblood families are at some point blood-related as they do not want to mix their bloodline with the muggles.

8. Neville Has the Wrong Wand:

In Harry Potter, a wand chooses its owner. This fact is narrated by the powerful wandmaker Garrick Ollivander. This explains why Neville Longbottom was so clumsy in the first few years with his father’s wand. In order to show honor to his father’s Neville uses his father’s old wand. He also feels pressure from his grandmother who wants him to live up to the legacy of Frank, his father. After the wand breaks, Nevile finds his wand and drastically improves his skill in magic. This also gives him the power to defend himself against Death Eaters. Neville is no loser or lousy wizard; he just needed the right tools to show his magical talent.

9. The Dursleys Don’t Hate Harry, The Horcruxes Made Them:

Heroic stance amid ruins.

There is a popular theory that the Dursleys do not hate Harry, it is just the Horcruxes in Harry that made them hate him. As we know the Horcruxes affect the mood of those who are around them. We can see the same thing happened with Ron and Harry when they tried to hide the locket Horcrux by wearing it on their neck in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

This theory depicts that the hate Dursley showed to Harry was not because of who he was; it was because Harry was one of the Hoecruxes. Although they did  abuse Harry and that is not acceptable at all, this theory could at least explain why the Dursleys’ had that horrifying attitude towards him.

10. The Four Narnia Children are the Hogwarts House Founders:

Did you read the Chronicles of Narnia? If you hadn’t this might be your cue to read it. The Chronicles of Narnia has four protagonists, and their characteristics are quite similar to the founders of Hogwarts, the heart of the Wizarding World. Hogwarts founder Helga Hufflepuff is known as loyal and friendly; her characteristics match the characteristics of Lucy Pevensie. Rowena Ravenclaw is smart and logical, and she represents the character of  Susan Pevensie of Chronicle of Narnia. Similarly, Godric Gryffindor, who is brave and reckless, matches with Peter Pevensie, and Salazar Slytherin, who is cunning and ambitious, matches with Edmund Pevensie. This prediction makes more sense when we learn that J.K. Rowling was inspired by CS Lewis, the writer of The Chronicles of Narnia.
